2023-24 CUFS E-Board

2023-24 co-presidents, Maria Elena Gerbaud and Isabella Korunda

Maria Elena Gerbaud is the Co-President and a senior at Columbia College, majoring in Art History. Born and raised in Panama, she is interested in the intersection between Latin American fashion and global trends. As the Co-President, Maria Elena hopes to inspire other members of the Columbia community to go into the world of fashion.

Isabella Korunda is the Co-President of CUFS and is a senior at Columbia College majoring in Film and Media Studies. She has been on the executive board of CUFS since her Freshman year. Isabella is passionate about connecting the Columbia community to the fashion world and creating a space where others can advance their passion and interest in fashion.

Eva is a senior at Columbia College studying Economics and Anthropology. She’s currently the Senior Advisor for the club having previously been the President, Vice President, and Sustainability Director. She has been in CUFS since freshman year and has a passion for all things art, creativity, and social justice. She sees fashion as a form of public and performance art that shapes culture. She has made multiple projects creating her own clothing collections based on her visual arts work. She has an art instagram where she often shares her work @evascollectionofart. On campus she is also the President of the Native American Council, and has work experience in non-profit consulting and development. She hopes to find a career that blends her passion for art and social justice.

Events Board

Jasmine is the Co-director of Events for the Columbia fashion society. As a junior studying economics at Barnard College, she is very interested in the business side of fashion.

Samantha “Sammy” Obel, currently a second-year student, serves as the Co-Director of Events for the Columbia Fashion Society. In addition to her role in CUFS, she is the Digital Director for Columbia Votes and co-coordinator for Mentoring Youth NYC. Sammy’s passion for fashion and thrifting drives her to explore all things style related. She’s enthusiastic about enhancing CUFS engagement with the Columbia community through compelling speakers and exciting events.

Orlie White a senior at Barnard College majoring in Art History with a Concentration in Visual Arts and the Associate Director of Events at CUFS. She has previously interned at The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Christian Louboutin, along with internships in the contemporary art gallery and curating industries. As a fashion styling assistant, she has worked on projects with Nike, Harperโ€™s Bazaar, Dolce & Gabbana, Kappa, Ambush, Rick Owens, and Stella McCartney. She loves NYC, happiness, photography, shopping, perfume, manifestation, sushi, and her cat Lola.

Hi, My name is Ishi Manghnani. I am an international student from Dubai! Currently I am an events fellow! My major is political science & psychology right now, but I am very interested in fashion and everything it has to offer!!

Bonny Guo is an Event Fellow at CUFS. She is a junior at Barnard studying psychology and art history. She is passionate about fashion on both the business side and the artistic side.

Social Media Board

Alba Renteria Enriquez is the head of social media of CUFS. She is a sophomore at Columbia College studying Psychology. Born and raised in Peru, she is interested in the intersection between fashion and art. As the head of social media, she loves brainstorming new ideas and working with the social media team on the creative side of CUFS.

Sreya Nandanampati is a junior at Barnard studying Computer Science and Archaeology! I am currently one of the co-directors of the CUFS social media, and I love all things related to creativity and fashion. I am most interested in the intersection of fashion, technology, and activism and love to watch Project Runway in my free time ๐Ÿ™‚

Ryann Chalmers is a current sophomore in CC, majoring in film studies with a concentration in women and gender studies. She serves as the Associate Director of Social Media and TikTok lead for CUFS. As a supporter of elaborate jewelry and all things vintage, Ryann loves talking about all kinds of fashion and on the weekend can always be found at thrift stores or flea markets.

Savanna Chada is the Graphics Fellow of CUFS and a senior at Columbia College. Savanna is passionate about fashion and penned a thesis on the Democratization of the Fashion and Beauty Industries. She completed a year-long intensive program at Parsons School of Design, and she wrote a book in collaboration with the nonprofit Girls Inc. featuring interviews with female leaders in the industry. Savanna is excited about creating a space where everyone is welcome to share in the fun of fashion and advance their personal and professional interests.

Hi<3 My name is Ashley Young and I am the TikTok Fellow for the CUFS Social Media Team! I am currently a second year studying Sustainable Development and Computer Science in Columbia College and I am from Montana but don’t get it twisted—I LOVE ALL THINGS CITY AND FASHION!

Editorial Board

Leah Goryachkovsky (she/her) is the current Co-Editor and Chief and the Sustainability Director for CUFS. She is a senior in the Dual Degree program with GS and JTS studying Financial Economics and Ethics. Leah’s work primarily focuses on probing the intersection between fashion and sustainability with a focus in finding a way to bridge the gap between sustainability and accessibility. To integrate a more sustainable consumption of fashion, keep up with Leah’s guides on where to thrift around New York, informative tools to use when shopping sustainability (company fabric and dye sourcing, labor practices, etc.), and much more.

Nick Isaza is a member of the editorial board and a senior at Columbia College. He is pursuing a joint Econ- Math major and a concentration in Latin American and Caribbean studies. He is very interested in fashion history as well as the evolution of menswear and how it exists today.

Hi! My name is Annie Buda and I am a sophomore in CC. I have the privilege of serving as the Associate Director of Publications. My focus is on sustainable fashion and haute couture, and I am passionate about studying how the two intertwine to create fashion as art. I also write on my fashion blog OhSoAnnie!

My name is Cat, and I am a Barnard sophomore majoring in Economics. I am currently a writing fellow at CUFS. During my free time, I like watching 90s Versace runway shows, reading the Economist, attending Barre classes, and trying new restaurants in the city.
