Fall Favorites from CUFS Editorial

Some members of the CUFS Editorial committee thought we’d share some fashion favorites of the season. Happy fall!

Sarah Dalloul

This fall, I’ve been obsessed with handkerchief scarves. I feel like they’re the perfect mix of timeless and effortless. I love how versatile they are. You can wear one around your neck or wrap it around a bag handle, or even layer it under a blazer for a pop of color. There’s something about the way it elevates my outfit that adds instant polish and a sense of out togetherness. Whether it’s silk with a vintage print or a cozy knit version, it’s such a simple piece that elevates everything else I’m wearing.

Anyone who knows me knows I love J.Crew anytime of the year, and the fall is no different. Their cashmere sweaters are chic and comfortable, and this maroon color in particular is perfect for the season.

My current fall favourite is this faux fur lined tie-belt coat that I thrifted in the West Village. I had been searching for the perfect faux fur piece to add to my wardrobe for weeks and stumbled upon this coat by total coincidence. It was love at first sight as this piece manages to evoke both a more formal Upper East Side ladies who lunch aesthetic while also simultaneously feeling like I pulled it out of Kate Moss’s wardrobe from the late 1990s. This coat has the ability to elevate any outfit and I usually wear it with more casual items like jeans or a turtleneck to dress it up for a night out!

While it’s Spring in Melbourne – where I am currently completing my study abroad – my wardrobe has taken on an unexpectedly autumnal flair ever since I landed here. The city’s effortlessly cool and eclectic vibe has made me play around with a lot of nods to cowboy culture – fringed suede boots, paired with an overly comfortable unisex mustard denim jacket, and excessively pocketed jeans, striking a balance between comfort and character affirmation. That is how I have been strolling around the streets of Melbourne in Spring so far, and it has been so fun to play around with such comfortable, wide, yet stylish clothes. Due to the outdoors lifestyle of Melbourne, cowboy attire is always a top-tier choice for this season, as it is so practical, all while fitting the bohemian-hippie-alternative vibe of the city. As the fashion capital of Australia, Melbourne has something uniquely “vintage-y ” and authentic that makes this Western revival feel just right for this season.

This fall I’m wearing heels as a go-to shoe. Heels with pants, heels with skirts, heels with jeans… heels with everything! Heels uplevel mood, height, and elegance – everything you could hope for in a shoe.

Sadie Zanzuri

My fall favorite this season has been my navy blue cropped trench coat. It has been the absolute perfect addition to any and every outfit. Its gold button detailing and sharp stitching always add to the most basic look. And, of course, I must add the honorable mention of a red manicure. A short, square, red gel manicure is my go-to look, and for fall, a bright red makes me happy, especially as I’m typing and writing during the treacherous time that is midterms. I know everyone loves their deep reds, but I am just so loyal to a bright red even in the fall!

Dami Bankole

My Tommy Hilfiger peacoat cape, because I can be lazy with my outfit and still get compliments!

Annabelle Leung

Definitely the leather jackets in my wardrobe. Not only do they add a layer of flavor to my fits, but they also keep me protected from the additional layer of fall wind!

Angelina O’Connor

My vintage suede jacket! It’s the perfect color for fall and keeps me warm while also being stylish. Plus, I got it second hand in SF, so it reminds me of home.
