Welcome to our new series that breaks down some staple thrifting locations in various areas around New York. This week is one of my favorites, the East Village.
This inconspicuous hole-in-the-wall gem is filled with a large variety of products. It is so special because everything (unless stated otherwise) is priced by the pound! The pricing varies with $7, $13, and $20 charges per pound. If I were you shopping here, I’d be keeping an eye out for their gorgeous vintage jackets as well as their funky shirts. Not only can you shop in person, but Flamingo’s vintage pound has an online shop where everything is neatly categorized with a bonus inclusion of style bundles.
Overall, I’d definitely say this store is worth stopping by.

No Relation Vintage
No Relation is an L Vintage East Village classic. This spot hosts an extensive selection of classic everyday items with no shortage of vintage denim pieces, leather jackets, and flannels. Depending on how lucky you get with shoe size, there could be a great pair of Jordans calling your name. If you enjoy the hunt for that unique must-have clothing, all I have to say is happy hunting.
Overall, this shop is a must-visit for thrifting in this location.

Tokio7, AKA your new favorite designer consignment shop, has a collection of items that is stunning and is updated quite frequently. This shop offers the coolest picks from Rick Owens to indie designer brands. The in-store and online selections are nothing short of a delight to sort through as you are mesmerized by the history of fashion that is right in front of you. Tokio7 embodies New York street style and is certainly worth a browse. It’s also a great place to people watch.

Round up all your sports fan friends because you love them. Mr. Throwback gives a sense of instant nostalgia to sports fans with their large array of all the coolest sports memorabilia and merchandise. The store carries clothing from the typical jersey to fun leather jackets. Aside from clothing, they also carry bobbleheads, old-school baseball toys, and Nintendo controllers. The owners/workers are very welcoming and knowledgeable about all things sports. Even if you’re not the biggest sports fan, I would still recommend a visit to appreciate the vintage sports collection.

AuH2O
This small shop located in the East Village is finally back after its brief hiatus since the pandemic started. Although small, it is curated to have unique vintage finds: secondhand upcycled clothing and jewelry at great prices. You can also shop their products on Instagram, Depop, and Etsy. (Extra 15% off of everything on Thursdays with a student ID!)
